Under Construction
The SO EDOT stations was the second station we deployed in the spring of 1998. It sits on the roof of the Workman Building on the campus of the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, New Mexico. It has performed very well, exhibiting good sensitivity with very little noise. For many years LANL has worked closely with NMT researchers, who run one of the premier lightning research programs in the nation. We'd like to thank NMT researchers Marx Brook, Paul Krehbiel, Bill Rison, and Ron Thomas; not only for their cooperation and advice, but for providing us with excellent, motivated graduate students (Kyle Wiens and Jeremiah Harlin) who have been the backbone of this project.
